E-FluFlu-III is a big Horten wing, which i built 1997 as a soarer.
The original plan was to build her with an electric drive, but in 1997 the batts and motor were too heavy. In 2009 i took part
at a wings-only meeting in Wehrheim and i decided to replace the huge battery for the rx and the lead with a modern outrunner
Scorpion 3026/1190 V2 and a 3S-3200 Saehan lipo, prop is 11x7. The overall weight didn't change, because i installed everything
in the nose. It's still 2300 gramm. Span is 350 cm, which makes an impressive sight in the sky. Check the video or my soaring-page
for more about the earlier soaring version. Twisteuse is a design by french Jean Marie Piednoir. She has no
flaps, steering is done via wingwarping for aileron and elevator. Definitely not a beginners model, difficult to build.
The leading edge of Twisteuse is made from a carbon tube and can rotate around the long side. Only the outer rib is glued to
the leading edge, all other ribs are only plugged into the carbon tube. The stabilizing principle is Horten.
Flying Twisteuse is very smooth and she need very small amount of energy to cruise around. Her span is 130 cm and weight is
around 150 gramm. In january 2008 i gave her an update by installing a brushless outrunner and a lipo. The video shows the
updated version.
Volage is a bird model, designed by my french friend
Gerard Jumelin. It's a Horten-principle wing. The big fuselage made some probs with the steering, so Gerard solved this
by adding a head steering and thrust steering via rotatable outrunner at the tail. During the build of Volage i used
for the first time an interesting technique: I pulled carbon fibres with epoxy through silicone fueltubes and those
over patterns. After cure i took the silicone away and got 2mm dia. curved carbon rods. The rods were used as a frame
and covered with 3mm Depron.
Variante ist as well a design by Gerard Jumelin.
Variante is a series of Horten stabilized wing of different sizes.
Requires just a single sheet of depron. Have fun. The big Rumpelstoss was my model for the Inter-Ex 2008 event. The big red one is a simple scale up from the
original green slowflyer version. Plan: Slowfly.
Span is 226 cm, weight is 2780 gramm, built mainly from Depron, spruce and a few vacuumformed parts. Drive is a 3S3200 lipo
and a Dualsky outrunner 4240-10T.

Parabola 2009 is a design by Bernd Melchisedech.I could buy a
nice cad-cam-machined set of ribs and a plan. Build lasted about 30 hours. Span is 180 cm and weight is 540 gramm including
a 40 gramm brushless outrunner and a 3s 200 lipo. She's a beauty in the sky. There's a big german thread here:

(a german poem for Rumpelstoss, written by W.W.Michel)
Zur Wisentjagd ritt hoch zu Ross
Dereinst ein Hauptmann Rumpelstoss
Mit rötlichblondem Haar.
Er reitet in des Kaisers Tross,
An seiner Seite gar.
Er sieht, wie Seiner Majestät
Galopp die Pelerine bläht
Und schließt daraus ganz akkurat:
Kraft gleich Galopp hoch zum Quadrat
( Dies ward von Lilienthal, dem Fiesen,
im Voraus leider schon bewiesen.)
Rumpelstossen schnell entschlossen
Steigt herab von seinem Zossen
Hochgestimmt und voll Vertrauen
Einen Aeroplan zu bauen
Welcher Seiner Majestät
Prächtig zu Gebrauche steht
Majestät ist sehr berührt,
Wie Rumpelstoss den Knüppel führt,
Wie er mit Donnern und mit Brausen
Den Aeroplan umher lässt sausen,
Und wie mit Bomben und Granaten
Die Technik ruft zu neuen Taten.
( Seither fliegt, wenn die Trommel ruft
Das Feld der Ehre in die Luft )
Aber traurig kam es leider,
Vaterland in großer Not
Rumpelstoss, er hatte Neider.

Schossen Rumpelstossen tot-
Doch Rumpelstossens Geist fliegt weiter !
